John's guitar accompaniment brings a lively rythm to the dance tunes and he also provides vocals concentrating on Scots and Irish traditional songs.  Although keen on folk music, John's musical tastes are varied and include opera, jazz and anything with a Latin beat!

In a parallel universe, John is a retired fire officer whose interests (as well as music) include gardening, hill walking, painting, sculpture and sea kayaking.
