Helen |
Helen bought an old concertina in a Bermondsey junk shop many years ago. It was unplayable, so she forked out £50 for a reconditioned Wheatstone. This was a good investment and inspired her to practise and to attend courses by Alastair Anderson, Norman Chalmers and others. She later bought some Hamish Moore smallpipes and was taught by Hamish. Helen played for several years with the Skelpit Lug Ceilidh Band, has helped with the local Feis sa Mheadhan, and has recently graduated from a Gaelic immersion course. In her other life she does research on perceptual illusions and climbs Corbetts, having bagged all the Munros. |
